Breast Cancer Awareness

Hello friends Happy New Month. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I will like to take this opportunity to remind all women to visit a health facility to have a Clinical Breast Examination (CBE), an ultrasound scan of the breasts or a mammogram done.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women and causes the highest number of cancer related deaths in women. The rates of breast cancer are higher among women in developed countries however, rates are now increasing in developing countries due to adoption of western lifestyles.

Early detection of breast cancer is critical in order to improve treatment outcomes and survival rates. Let’s encourage every woman to visit a health facility to have a Clinical Breast Examination (CBE), an ultrasound scan of the breasts or a mammogram done, because early detection of breast cancer saves lives.
