Friends let’s look at the HEALTH EFFECTS OF SMOKING. Do you know that within 10 seconds of a first puff, the poisonous chemicals in tobacco smoke enters the LUNGS and spread through the BLOOD to the BRAIN, HEART, KIDNEYS, LIVER AND OTHER VITAL ORGANS IN THE BODY?

Smoking harms every part of the body and increases one’s risk of contracting many diseases such as;

1) LUNG CANCER. However, smoking can also cause cancer in many parts of the body. Smoking can cause CANCERS OF THE LIP, TONGUE, MOUTH, NOSE, OESOPHAGUS, THROAT, STOMACH, LIVER, KIDNEYS, PANCREAS, BLADDER, BLOOD, CERVIX, VULVA, PENIS AND ANUS

2) Smoking causes HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE/HYPERTENSION by NARROWING the BLOOD VESSELS thereby causing BLOOD PRESSURE TO GO HIGH

3) Smoking increases the risk of BLOOD CLOTS FORMATION, which BLOCKS BLOOD FLOW TO THE BRAIN AND HEART LEADING TO STROKE AND HEART DISEASE respectively

4) Smoking WEAKENS THE IMMUNE SYSTEM, making the individual more likely to get BACTERIAL AND VIRAL INFECTIONS

5) Smoking can DAMAGE THE EYES, leading to BLINDNESS

6) Smoking REDUCES BLOOD FLOW to the INNER EAR, resulting in DEAFNESS

7) Smoking can cause DIABETES
