Adolescent pregnancy is a major health concern globally. Complications from pregnancy and childbirth are the leading cause of death among adolescent girls aged 15–19 years. The majority (95%) of global adolescent births occur in developing countries, and child marriage is identified as the major contributor to the high rate of adolescent pregnancy in these regions.
Thirty percent (30%) of girls from developing countries marry before their 18th birthday; hence, most adolescent pregnancies in developing countries occur in married teen girls, whilst in developed countries, they occur more commonly in unmarried teen girls (WHO, 2018).
Let’s say NO TO CHILD MARRIAGE in our country!
